"Wow! haha what can I even say? What a week. What a place.

Mexico is crazy... So I wrote to you last Tuesday which was my first day here. Our P days are normally today, (Monday) but they let me write home on Tues cuz I was a noob. The geckos here are pretty big and the cockroaches too but I have only seen one more since the first two. We keep the place pretty clean. I have also began to appreciate the cold shower. IT IS SO BLOODY HOT!!!! I sweat 24-7. When we get home at night I just wanna die I´m so exhausted. The hammock isn´t that comfortable, but I´m usually so tired it doesn´t matter. The dogs are about 95% strays... lol they are all annoying and loud. Kabah is kinda like just a part of the town, yeah like a neighborhood. As for the stores, in the main part of city they have supermarkets, but in the town like on the smaller streets there's all kinds of markets. I don´t find really anything I like in the stores here, except for cool drinks that are fun. But yeah they don´t really have anything here, so if anyone feels like sending a package, go for it! haha . My companion and I live in a house alone. Our hammocks are not protected but its ok there actually aren't many mosquitoes. We have no way to heat water but its ok, the cold water feels good.

In the week I have been here we have seen the blessings of the priesthood three times already. Earlier this week, we were just going around one night visiting members, when we came to one house, they told us that Hermana Vicki was very sick. When we came in she was so sick she was laying on the floor. Apparently she couldn't even get up so they just propped a pillow under her head. Hermana Rosa brought her their rocking chair to use. We stood there for like ten minutes(they have to ask for a blessing) when finally her daughter asked us. She was so so so sick, like not even conscious. I annointed and my comp gave a blessing. They were thinking about taking her to the hospital but I´m not sure if they did. Anyways, we came back the next day to check on her and she was completely healed, walking around the house. She was also at church the following day, perfectly healthy. Also last night we were visiting with a family who has a baby that could not stop vomiting. After our lesson they asked us if we could give their child a blessing. Elder Elledge annointed and I then gave my first blessing. They had me do it in english so I could be sure to say the proper words. I don't know how shes doing, but we're returning tonight to do family home evening with them. We also had the oppurtunity to bless a sister who hurt her foot.

It is incredible to me how much light we bring to people. Even the members, just by coming, sharing a scripture and singing a hymn is the world to these wonderful people. One older lady, when my comp asked her if she needed help with anything replied: (translated) no elders, i am great, just your presence gives me all i need.

So there is this hermana in our ward that is awesome! she is so cool! She goes goes goes! She does more missionary work then we do I swear! She gave us a referral and we went and taught them. It's a family of three. Raul, Lizbeth, and their 8 year old daughter. The first lesson the husband recieved really good but the wife not as much. We came back and taught the third lesson instead of the second lesson. the third lesson is about faith, repentance baptism, holy ghost. I taught the faith part, and when my companion got to baptism and asked them if they would follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized, the spirit flooded into the room like a wave.!!!! It was incredible!!! They loooked at each other and nodded and told us yes. It was incredible!!!!
They did not, however show up to church this week, but apparently his mother in law showed up unexpectedly. lol so yeah... this week has been both the best and hardest of my life.
I hand washed my garments today. It is hotter then anything I've ever felt, and they all say its COLD right now!!! lol My comp told me I´m going to die once may hits. OH! also we had the oppurtunity to baptize a sister this week! lol So technically I have one baptism already even though my comp taught her. I did however help teach the final few lessons. I had the oppurtunity to stand in on the confirmation in sacrament meeting Sunday, it was pretty legit. We also have a baptism scheduled for this Sunday. The guy we´re baptising is so awesome! They are really, really, poor, he sells vegetables off of his bike. But he is the humblest, nicest, little man! His little kids are so cute! So I´m excited for that. So yeah I´m just truckin along... lol I´ll make it! It's definitely worth it just hard sometimes. It's cool to be in the big city in Cancun!"
