Here is a bit from his last letter:
"So this week has been pretty crazy! In our lesson last week I had the coolest experience! We were committing the investigator to keep the word of wisdom, and she said she would try, but didn't see how she could quit drinking. We sat in silence for a second and then a scripture like exploded in to my mind that we had never even associated with that lesson before... 1 Nephi 3:7. It was awesome and the Spirit was strong...
I had another cool experience Saturday night. Every Saturday night we go to the Referral Center for an hour and a half and talk to people who are interested or have questions about the church. I got on with this guy and talked to him for like an hour... at first he was just bashing, wanted to fight, I was just nice and answered all his questions, dispelled the myths, and, for some reason unknown to me, his heart was softened and he asked me... "Can I tell you something?" I said "Sure". He said "I'm in the military and a few months ago some of your missionaries tried to convert me. I resisted but now I'm not sure that I should have." Wow! So I told him that he could still accept it now and asked if he wanted missionaries yet. He responded that he maybe wasn't ready for that yet, but said that he would like to talk with me more about the gospel, so, I e-mailed him Sunday to set up another appointment to talk to him. Hopefully he answers back before I leave!"
