"I went to bed at 10 o clock this new years. I'm pretty sure it was the first time in my life I didnt party for new years... The people here do something really cool on new years.. they make these big scarecrow looking dolls, and dress them and put things in their hands that they like either have quit or want to quit this new year... then they blow the crap out of it at midnight!!! haha All the dolls we saw had beer bottles in their hands so I'm pretty sure a lot of people wanted to quit drinking... I swear every man here is a drunk! New years day was crazy .. everyone partied all night and when we got up at six thirty our neighbors were still partyin... There were people driving around in cars and on mopeds just hammered!!! Drunk people here are really funny, but its also really sad because they have families and everything....

I learned how to make tortilla from scratch this week... it was really fun.. we made the tortillas and formed them into empanadas. My companion was really good at it but me... not so much. haha All mine looked really ugly, but they tasted good!

So we have two more baptisms coming up... we think.. haha One for the ninth... it is Hermano Martin. He is the one we were going to baptise the 26th of December but we had to put it back cuz he drank again. We're baptizing the neice of a member the tenth. So, yeah all is good here... we have zone conference Wednesday and then, this Sunday EXCHANGES!!!! Who knows what will happen but I'm pretty sure I am staying here in cancun so if anyone leaves it will be my companion. "
