He sounds like he is growing into a great missionary! : )

From Elder E's last letter:

"You would not even believe the rate at which we are learning and progressing here. I can't even describe the outpouring of spiritual experiences and personal revelation we all receive here. This is truly God's work, and he is definitely helping us along the way. Through His hand, I have been able to learn all 9 basic conjugations of Spanish verbs, and endless amounts of vocab as well... we all somehow wake up at six thirty and get through our day with energy no matter how much sleep we lost...
So now we get to last night... last night CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER. So, on Tuesdays we have the devotional and it is always a general authority but rarely an apostle. And we had already had Elder Scott a few weeks ago so we were expecting another seventy... Well apparently on the way to dinner some sisters in our zone saw ELDER JEFFREY R. HOLLAND!!!!!! on the way from the administration building to the gym where we have the huge MTC wide devotionals and shook his hand... the word spread like fire at dinner that he was here. ELDER HOLLAND!!!!!!!! So anyways, we get into the devotional, and my companion and I have the best seats ever cuz we are in the choir... Elder Holland walked in as we were singing Hope of Israel, and 2,000 missionaries all stood and waited for him to be seated.. He got to his seat, blew us a kiss and motioned for us to sit.... the choir (us) then sang President Faust's beautiful hymn: "This is the Christ". The song is amazing. I barely made it through and I even lost it a few times during rehearsal. His wife spoke to us for a few minutes and then he got up....

Words can not even describe that hour of our lives.... He acted in a manner and said things he could only have said to two thousand other called, full time special witnesses of Jesus Christ like he is. I really wish I could tell you how amazing this experience was but there really aren't any words in our language that do it justice... He went a half hour past the meeting ending time! He didn't deliver a talk.. He started by welcoming us to the apostleship he said as fellow representatives of Jesus Christ and then spoke to us as such.. That man has such an amazing love for us it's ridiculous. He told us so many amazing things that will change my life and my mission forever... He finally closed and as he was walking out, tears streaming down his face, he blew us a kiss goodbye and walked out... We all melted! I'm pretty sure there wasn't a dry eye there...
The MTC and Preach My Gospel were born to CONVERT the missionaries!!!! As Elder Holland said... "If we can sufficiently show you the why, you can figure out the how!" and that's what we're doing. We come in as big blobs of clay and are sculpted into polished, beautiful figures and representatives of the Savior."

More from Elder E...

"I was studying outside when I saw out of the corner of my eye, a lady sitting there eating lunch. I kept getting the feeling that I needed to go talk to her! So finally, for reasons unknown to me, I got up and went to see if she needed help with something. Turns out she couldn't get any of her food containers opened because of her arthritis, so, I helped her open it. It is amazing how important listening to the promptings of the Spirit is, even in small things like that!"
